Process control

The process control begins by describing the safe operation and maintenance of sensors, transducers, controllers, final control elements, and other devices used in process control. It explains the principles and practices governing many kinds of devices used to control pressure, temperature, flow, and level. It also describes the proper use of analytical instrumentation and devices that measure and control force, weight, and motion.

Later courses in the program develop the concepts of system control, from basic controller and control loop PID operation through integrated systems, with emphasis on distributed control systems. In addition, the program discusses data transmission methods, including fiber optics, and describes safe ways of maintaining system quality.
